The Restaurant Association of New Zealand is a Not for Profit Organisation serving the hospitality industry. There are over 2500 members nationwide. The Association prides itself on being the 'bridge' between good food and good business. The purpose is to help our members' cafes or restaurants be successful and great, and to navigate the challenges presented by Covid-19 by providing essential and practical support. In keeping with the industry it serves, the Association is a vibrant, interesting and fun environment to work in.

The role has a strong Employment law focus and includes:
advising on a wide range of Employment Law issues, mainly by phone to members, including disciplinary matters, the Holidays Act, and redundancy, restructuring and performance management;
responding to personal grievances and representing employers at mediation;
negotiating settlement agreements;
dealing with matters in the Employment Relations Authority; and
advising on liquor licencing, leasing and immigration matters.
There is also a library of Employment Law and Health and Safety manuals and resources to maintain and the opportunity to write articles and make submissions regarding changes to relevant legislation.

Ideally, you will a minimum of 2+ years PQE or relevant experience as a solicitor or human resources professional working with employment law and related areas. You will naturally be outgoing, flexible and open, and easy to interact with. Being a great communicator, especially on the telephone, you will have the ability to build strong relationships with the people who make up this vibrant organisation.

The offices are ideally situated on the city fringe with a carpark and the hours will facilitate a great work life balance, with the opportunity to partially work from home.
