We are now looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team.Working as a member of the Design team, you will support the Sales Engineers & Mechanical design Engineers in determining the system architecture and what equipment will be needed such as Motors, Servos, Drives, Instrumentation & PLCs. Your duties will also include: - * Responsibility for producing the relevant project requirements including 2D (AutoCAD) electrical schematic drawings, back plate layouts, block cable diagrams and test schedules * Compilation and structure of electrical BOMs * Ensuring system designs & drawings are inspected prior to release * Providing feedback and rectifying engineering drawings and bill of material errors. * Creating support documentation including user manuals, instructions, troubleshooting guides etc. * Working with third party suppliers to determine signalling and communication requirements for ancillary upstream & downstream equipment * Undertaking customer site visits, mainly in the UK, which may involve occasional overnight staysWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: * Degree/HND/HNC in an electrical/electronic discipline * Demonstrable experience in a similar electrical design role within a bespoke machinery building environment * Strong electrical knowledge of 230vAC, low voltage and DC control systems * Experience running several projects at a time from conception through to completion including customer site visits, calculations, specifications, drawings etc. * Appreciation of PLCs, HMIs, Servo drives & Motion control * Working knowledge of the relevant standards governing the controls automation, machine building industries * Experience working independently at customer facilities * Willing to work hands-on, when required, with the production team to help meet customer requirements and on the development of new products * Experience working with Solidworks 3D CAD would be preferable * Experience in PLC programming, Rockwell Logix and/or Mitsubishi GX Developer would be a plus * Experience working with MRP/ERP systems would be an advantageThis is a permanent position working 40 hours per week based at head office in Nelson, Lancashire
