EDUCATION SUPPORT WORKER/ PARAPROFESSIONAL

$26.80 - $27.80 Hourly Paid fortnightly

We're looking for someone to work across our two classrooms: Conductive Education Kindergarten – Supporting children aged 3–6 with motor challenges such as Cerebral Palsy. Sensory Kindergarten – A play-based program for neurodiverse children aged 3–6, primarily with a diagnosis of Autism. We're a small but mighty team consisting of one Conductive Education Specialist, two Early Childhood Education Teachers, one Paraprofessional, administration and visiting therapists.



We value collaboration, creativity, and having fun—whilst putting the Tamariki at the heart of everything we do.



Key Responsibilities include:

* Foster a safe, neuro-affirming, and supportive learning environment

* Work closely with Kaiako, therapists, whanau, and support staff to ensure consistency and holistic support

* Confidently support Tamariki during group and 1:1 intervention developed by the team

* Anticipate Tamariki needs and contribute to the smooth running of daily routines

* Use positive behaviour support strategies and encourage autonomy and independence

* Stay calm and supportive in challenging moments, using strategies tailored to each Tamariki needs

* Support the Tamariki development of communication, social, and emotional regulation skills

* Follow and help implement strategies from IEPs and Therapist plans

* Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of educational activities and resources

* Maintain clear documentation and progress notes

* Engage with whanau and support communication using tools like Educa and newsletters

* Police check is required



Bonus Skills & Experience:

* Current First Aid Certificate, with knowledge of seizure response and choking protocols

* Understanding of sensory processing, motor development, and autistic play styles

* Familiarity with Educa or similar documentation systems
