BestStart Pipiwai Kindy is seeking a passionate and dedicated cook to join our energetic and tight-knit team. Our focus is to provide quality education and care to the children in our community. BestStart Pipiwai Kindy is an early learning centre and Enviroschool located in a semi-rural area of Whangarei. Licensed for 50 children aged 2-5 years old, our natural, spacious centre allows for excellent indoor-outdoor flow, giving the children a choice of different learning environments. We are searching for someone that is flexible, easy going, good under pressure and can work well in a team to join us! About the Role: An exciting opportunity has come about for a new Centre Cook to join our busy team at BestStart Pipiwai Kindy. We are searching for someone who can provide fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals for our children each day.? You will need to be organised, proficient in administrative duties with good time management. You do not need a qualification for this role but experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred. As our Centre Cook you will plan, prepare and cook an appetising and culturally varied menu for the children, including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. You'll need to be efficient with your time and have an excellent knowledge of foods that promote good nutrition and healthy eating for our children.? This is a permanent part-?time position working 30 hours Monday-Friday, from 8.30am - 3pm. Our kitchen is located in the play space so you will need to relate to children well. As a Centre Cook, you will also need to have the flexibility to cover a lunch break or two occasionally in the classroom.
