What you will be doing
this role is responsible for pickup and delivery of shipments for World Courier customers, and related tasks.

Key accountabilities include to;
Pickup and deliver goods as instructed;

Ensure requested supplies are provided to customers;

Double checking and/or recording pieces at time of delivery, collection and transfer;

Ensuring all delivery deadlines are met;

Adhering to road rules and safe driving requirements; and

Any other duties as directed by the Operations Supervisor VIC/TAS or National Operations Manager.
PRIMARYDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Pickup and deliver goods as instructed in a professional and timelymanner.

Ensure requested supplies are provided to customers and assist inpackaging goods to be transported as required.

Maintain a professional, courteous and helpful approach to all WorldCourier customers and consignees to enhance the reputation of the organisation.

Confirm that all required paperwork is completed by shipper/consigneeand provide back to the Operations/Dispatch team to be entered into the WorldStar system.

Record and check all items at time of delivery, collection andtransfer and report back to the Operations/Dispatch team to confirm allrequired particulars.

Use initiative and anticipate problems that may occur with deliveriesand seek innovative solutions to remedy such issues.

Update the Operations/Dispatch team on a regular basis with details ofany issues or delays with deliveries so that customers can be contacted andtimeframes amended (where appropriate).

Undertake regular cleaning and maintenance duties on company signed vehiclesto ensure they remain presentable and in good working order.

Prepare statistical reports on dispatch activities to meetorganisational requirements.
Assist the Operations team to package products during down times.
Effectively collaborate with team members to ensure that the functionis operating effectively and efficiently, while maintaining a harmonious teamenvironment.

Ensure compliance with relevant WH&S legislation and that anyissues are identified and actioned in line with WCA policy.

Work together with the Dispatch and Operations teams to findappropriate resolutions to dispatch matters to ensure ongoing customersatisfaction.

Provide information to all WCA business units to ensure work output iscoordinated in an effective manner.

Contribute to team and organisational wide discussions by sharingideas, experiences and recommendations around improving the effectiveness andefficiency of the business.

Comply with Dispatch and Operations standard operating procedures andpolicies to ensure that the function is demonstrating consistent practicesnationally and is in line with strategic objectives.
Actively promote a culture that values a safe and healthy workplace. Take reasonable care of, and cooperate with actions taken to protect;the health and safety of both yourself and others; and
report all accidents, incidents and hazards to your supervisor as soonas is practicable.

What your background should look like (minimum qualifications)

Strong knowledge of the relevant local metropolitan area

A current driver’s licence

A clean driving history
Experience providing superior customer service

A thorough understanding of freight delivery practices and standards (desirable)

High level of computer literacy; sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
