The teamIn our newly created Tower Architect role you will work in the People and Health product tower within the Service Portfolios directorate. This area delivers applications and services grouped into products to end users. In this role you will develop a deep understanding of the People and Health business, and deliver key enabling systems based on the ICT Strategy and Vision set by the Architecture, Policy and Design group. You will develop a sound understanding the available products, solutions and services within the People and Health area of speciality, and provide fit-for-purpose domain level architecture, to support the delivery by product teams against the business driven roadmaps.The roleThere is cross dependency with other business and technical areas in this role, therefore the Domain Architect will have a pivotal role in supporting the cohesion and consistency of ICT architecture and solutions across the Defence Information Environment. You will contribute to the continuous development of the environment by providing innovative thinking and creativity, and supporting the standardisation of tools and products, which can be used and reused across the NZDF through Reference Architectures, which are aligned with the Enterprise Architecture function.It's essential that you have excellent communication with your peer group which enables you to identify and mitigate impacts arising from changes to their respective products (whether driven by vendor change roadmap or the product roadmap) and understanding how this will flow across the product landscape. You will also work closely to advise the Product Manager, Product Owner and business stakeholders on the limitations and constraints to the required deliverable, and identify impacts on towers across CIS Branch.Technical skills

Demonstrable experience with ERP system (preferably SAP) deployed in a complex environment;
Experience of a range of Bespoke and COTS solutions, and associated integrations between these systems;
Comfortable with processes and procedures for deploying and managing solutions across a wide range of platforms, including traditional on premise and Cloud platforms;
Knowledge and understanding of application build and release processes using Agile delivery methods and incremental release approaches, particularly using a Product Development model;
Recent hands-on architecture and design experience in Application Consolidation, Migration and Decommissioning approaches and processes;
Demonstrate the ability to support continual improvement activities, with a learning mind-set and the ability to adapt ways of working.

Additional skillsExperience in, or knowledge of:
Architecture frameworks and methods such as TOGAF;
Product Management or demonstrated leadership in a similar role;
Building positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholder groups across the organisation;
The Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and/or product lifecycle;
Thorough understanding of the agile methodologies.
