Specialising in the food services industry we can store and deliver primary meat, aquaculture, frozen, chilled and ambient products.
For over 20 years we have delivered our customers a first-class service and due to expansion we are ideally looking for two experienced, down to earth Dispatchers who can work as a team, and can hit the ground running.
Reporting to the Transport Operations Manager you will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of our fleet.
Your key tasks will include:
• Co-ordinating container/truck movements according to our customer needs and deadlines
• Problem solving including anticipating issues, managing out of the ordinary situations, re-routing drivers etc
• Co-ordinating with the ports and associated services including the administration
• Managing the daily relationship with our customers and our experienced drivers
• Administration including port documentation, driver hours, log books etc.
• Promoting a safe working environment and adhering to MPI rules and regulations
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous dispatching experience within a fast-paced transport environment including the daily management of line haul and multi drop drivers as well as the management of containers
• Strong understanding of truck movements and how to get the best results
• Experience of the food services industry would be ideal
• Excellent customer services skills with the ability to build relationships quickly and with ease
• Proven experience in problem solving and working to tight deadlines
• Experience of using computer systems including GPS software, transport management software and MS Office
• Knowledge of Safe Work Practices and, ideally, MPI regulations
• Ability to perform and work well under pressure as well as in a team
