What does a Support Worker do?Support and encourage individuals in their daily living situation, whether it is in their own home or their community by: Assist children, young people and adults to learn skills for daily living Teach people to grow and increase their independence Assist people to plan and achieve their goals Help to make positive choices about their lifestyle Support people to access and be involved in their community Support Leisure activities at home Help people develop and sustain their interests and relationships What skills will a Support Worker have? A warm and friendly personality and a reasonable level of physical fitness. A great attitude and desire to support people to reach their full potential. You will need a full New Zealand Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle A level of resilience and perseverance is required as there will be times when you will need to respond to some challenging situations at times. Be able to complete satisfactory police check and be legally entitled to work in New Zealand Working for Us
