Director Migration Employment Fixed Term until 30 September 2025 Part Time, 30 hours per week Salary circa $155,017 (total remuneration for full time equivalent). Pro rata salary circa $124,013 (total remuneration for 30 hours per week) At New Zealand Red Cross, we are here for humanity.
In this role, you'll be part of the National Migration Team and wider Migration Group.
This group supports former refugees and vulnerable migrants through several programmes including mental health services.
This is a fixed term role until 30 September 2025, with the possibility of an extension.
While we prefer our ideal candidate to be based in Wellington, we are open to conversations with candidates that are located outside of Wellington.
In this role you will: Lead and support the Migration Employment Directorate through government contract delivery and ensuring long-term success.Manage and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and delivering on the Migration Employment Directorate's objectives.Contribute to New Zealand Red Cross's strategic direction, business planning, financial sustainability, and performance monitoring.Drive initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive organisational culture, aligned with New Zealand Red Cross's values and goals.Oversee contract management, budgeting, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and efficient use of resources.Collaborate with senior leadership and other Directorates to support interdependent objectives and achieve organisational goals.To thrive in this role, you will have: Strong understanding of employment processes, particularly for refugees and vulnerable migrants.Proven experience in leading change processes and navigating complex, dynamic environments.Ability to manage significant budgets and remote teams, ensuring performance outcomes.Expertise in building and nurturing effective relationships and strategic partnerships.Skilled in problem-solving, strategic thinking, and challenging the status quo to drive innovation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on cultural sensitivity and collaboration.About New Zealand Red Cross New Zealand Red Cross is part of the world's largest humanitarian network, with over 10,000 members and employees dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people by mobilising the power of humanity and increasing community resilience.
