Te Whatu Ora leads the day to day running of the health system across New Zealand (at a local, regional, and national level). It brings together the functions of the twenty former District Health Boards (and other entities) ensuring continuity of services across the system. Hospital and specialist services are planned nationally to ensure consistency and equity across delivery and national contracts.The Director HR will lead the regions HR function across the region. Key responsibilities will include;Leading a high performing team of professional HR practitioners who provide strategic and operational HR advice and services;Engaging with Hospital & Specialist Services leadership teams as a trusted advisor and partner;Planning, directing, and coordinating the provision of best practice HR partnering and management advice and activity across the region;Developing the capability and capacity to meet group and local requirements;Overseeing the implementation of HR strategies, policies, and programmes (including projects aligned with Health NZ's strategies and plans);Proactively engaging with internal stakeholders and P&C colleagues across the group;Effectively managing change and integration at a group and regional level.Ideally you will have had significant generalist or specialist HR leadership experience in a large complex operating environment. A deep knowledge of modern HR and OD practice is essential.You will be able to demonstrate the ability to operationalise strategic considerations and lift capability and performance. This will require an astute person who can connect credibly with a wide range of stakeholders in a fast-paced changing environment.The ideal candidate will have extensive leadership and hands-on experience in a senior HR and business partnering capacity.
