This is an exciting permanent part-time opportunity for a Dietitian to join our Kapiti community service.
As a Dietitian working in this team, your day with be both exciting and varied. Your day will include a variety of rehabilitation and therapies based work. There will be assessments and interventions both in a home-based and out-patient clinical setting. Group and individual work will be part of your role. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team where we respect difference and encourage creative solutions to achieve patient - s health goals.
Here at ORA we understand the value of good patient relationships. You will work with patients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. We need you to demonstrate your excellent communication skills to build rapport with patients and their whanau. An understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi and Pae Ora is an advantage. As is familiarity working with those experiencing cognitive change.

With this in mind, you will enjoy working collaboratively with our Kapiti population alongside your allied health, nursing and medical colleagues. You will work within a friendly and supportive interdisciplinary team that works collaboratively and takes a patient centered and goal focused approach.We work alongside a fast-paced interdisciplinary teamWe keep professional clinical recordsWe engage with patients and their whanau in a positive manner, to understand the impact of and response to living with disability/ health conditionsWe support and connect into local community resources for best patient outcomesWe actively work with an equity lensWe provide supervision and support to junior staff orientating to the community settingWe require you to bring your holistic skills, enthusiasm and passion to achieve the best outcome for our patients. To do this, you - ll need the following;
Current APC and full registration with the New Zealand Dietitian Board.Experience working with people working with people from a wide range of cultures and from a spectrum of high to low deprivation and need. The role will predominately work with people from aged 18 upwards, however there is a paediatrics diabetes role involved in this position. Dietitians will at all times be culturally responsiveA driving licenseSkills able to provide safe and clinically effective patient/ client assessment and intervention, within a specific clinical area with a development of more in-depth knowledge and skills. The ORA dietitians will use their theoretical knowledge, skills and clinical reasoning to formulate a nutrition diagnosis and treatment and or education plan across a variety of clinical settings to achieve the best possible health outcomes for patients.The dietitian will work individually and alongside their inter-disciplinary colleagues (including allied health assistants) with people with a range of personal health conditions and disabilities including post acute admissions, people at risk of falls, frailty, neurological conditions, end stage progressive neurological conditions and people with a palliative prognosis.Here at Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley Districtwe embrace diversity and welcome applications from all people,including all gender identities, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations,disability and religions.
