About the role
Reporting to the Business and Product Development Manager - Flavours, the person will be developing and modifying flavour ingredient formulations. It combines both intellectual grunt with hands on tests carried out in the pilot plant, linked to:
Product design through the creation and modification of winning flavours
Early and late stage product development linked with commercialisation
Operating in an open team environment
Technical support and problem solving through a hands-on approach evaluating and resolving issues on the pathway from pilot plant to factory full-scale testing and manufacturing

About you
Key Skills required:
Preferably flavour industry experience with strong ability to taste and discriminate sensory properties of products
Exposure to enzyme modification technology is an advantage
A Food Technology, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree
Mathematical and analytical problem solving skills to be able to test ideas and scale up solutions
Inter-personal skills to build positive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external customers
A contributor who enjoys showing initiative, taking responsibility, sharing ideas and adding to the energy and acumen of the high performing team
Based at Tatuanui near Morrinsville, it is easy commuting distance from several Waikato rural towns as well as Hamilton City.
