This is a full time fix term (civ) position
What you will doAs a Developer, you will contribute to software development, configuration planning, options analysis and assist in the design and delivery of applications within good practice guidelines to maximise the return on investment and improve user experience. This includes:
Configuration management;
Service acceptance;
Application support;
Problem and incident resolution.
You will work closely with our supply chain, equipment management, technology and information stakeholders and users, leading and delivering a range of logistics business process and technology solutions. Initial areas of focus include the enhanced and expanded use of mobility toolset, use of Automated Identification Technologies (AIT), and supporting technology solutions for clothing and equipment management.Your focus will be on developing new Neptune applications for Automated Identification Technology (AIT) and Mobility solutions to allow entry of and access to information for users in the field, deployed environments, workshops, warehouses and anywhere else NZDF’s business is undertaken. This will then extend to the creation and support of other logistics applications that interface with NZDF’s core logistics system (SAP).What we needAs our ideal candidate you will be an enthusiastic individual who understands the value in working collaboratively and commits to continuous improvement. Additionally you will have:
Experience using; JavaScript, JQuery, HTML / CSS, Object Oriented ABAP, OpenUI5 and developer tools such as Safari Web Inspector/Chrome developer or other debugging tool(s);
Good relationship management, engagement and communication skills, including the ability to adjust to different audiences and situations;
Skills in business problem identification, analysis and resolution using technology solutions;
The ability to develop or contribute to effective business and technical documentation.
Who we areThe roles will initially report into the Consolidated Logistics Project (CLP). CLP is charged with initiating, driving, co-ordinating and delivering a series of activities required to transform the delivery of logistics within the NZDF. You will be required to work closely with other members of the Project, logistics community and other stakeholders to develop end-to-end solutions, which will involve considering process, organisation, technology and information changes and impacts.This is an exciting time to be part of establishing and building new capability for the NZDF and to deliver significant tangible outcomes.The role is fixed term for two years with plenty of room to expand your professional skills and work across a variety of initiatives.Every hour of every day, 365 days of the year, the New Zealand Defence Force is contributing to the defence, security and well-being of Aotearoa / New Zealand.
