This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist, who is committed to the further development of dermatology and skin lesionservicesacross theHawke's Bay health sector. The positionis based at Hawke's Bay, with 0.8 FTEand thereare opportunitiesto increase hours in private practice locally. Asa Specialist Physician in Dermatology you will work with the other Dermatologist, Dermatology Clinical Nurse Specialist and Dermatology Nurses in the Whanau & Communities Group.You will provide clinical services that include outpatient, community assessment and management of people requiring specialist dermatology care, and community-based support services. Clinics are provided in Hastings, Napier, Wairoa and Waipukurau. Strong clinical liaison with other surgical specialist such as General Surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology and non-surgical departments such as Paediatrics and the full range of medical specialties will be maintained. Hawke's Bayis situated in Hastings. It is a large secondary level, 400 bed accredited public facilityproviding acute and elective care for a region of over 162,000 people. The hospital is continuously improving facilities. It provides afull range of adult and paediatric clinical and support services expected in a district general hospital.Te Matau a Maui, Hawke's Bayhas extensive clinical teaching commitments in partnership with Wellington Medical School, University of Otago and the local Eastern Institute of Technology. The Dermatologists also participate in the postgraduate teaching programme including Grand Rounds, Journal Club, Registrar and House Officer teaching.
