Mo te turanga | About the role

* Permanent Part-time role (20 hours per week).

* Provide support to the Debt Management Officer.

* Assist with the accurate and timely processing of debtor invoices.

* Helping to resolve invoice queries and disputes.

* Assist with the collection of all non- rates debt in an efficient manner.

* Act as a liaison with council staff and debtors so that queries and disputes are resolved in a timely manner.

Mo te tangata | About you

* Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.

* Ability to handle difficult clients and build client relationships.

* Eye for detail – high degree of accuracy when undertaking tasks.

Mo nga pukenga | Qualifications and experience

* Minimum level 3 NCEA or equivalent

* Experience in a Financial service environment.

* Experience across broad roles involving invoicing, credit control and debt collections.

* Familiarity with the legal processes of debt recovery.

* Knowledge of debt collection and privacy laws.

* A Debt Management Qualification or Certification would be desirable.

* You would be part of the Financial Accounting and Rates team consisting of 18 employees.

* This role works closely with the Debt Management Officer.
