We are looking for a Database Engineer-Developer to join our Auckland based team, however, for the right candidate, we would consider someone to work out of our Wellington or Nelson office. The role will collaborate with our engineers, planners, scientists and IT specialists, to effectively manage day-to-day tasks/activities and collaborate with multiple teams of developers, data scientists and subject matter experts to effectively support the delivery of scope for technical projects. The role will be responsible for all aspects of the design, development, delivery and maintenance of data and database solutions for a wide variety of data sources and contexts.
In addition, your other duties will include:
Design, develop and deliver/implement data solutions to include: architecture design, prototyping of concepts to proof of concept, development of standards, design and development of test plans, code and module design, development and testing, data solution debugging, design and implementation of a solution that follows efficient design techniques
Researching, designing, implementing and managing software programs
Testing and evaluating new programs
Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications
Writing and implementing efficient code
Determining operational practicality
Developing quality assurance procedures
Deploying software tools, processes and metrics
Maintaining and upgrading existing systems
Training users
Working closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts
Lend support to various business, engineering and science teams as necessary during design, development and delivery
Support and maintain data and database systems to meet business delivery specifications and needs
Your core skillsets will include:
Experience using: Microsoft Azure, Azure Iot Hub, MS SQL, IoT, R, Python and C#
Implementing and maintaining data warehouses
Working with structured and unstructured data
Wrangling large sets of time series data
