We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with strong system administration expertise to join our multi-disciplinary team working on cutting edge aerospace projects.
This role requires a blend of scientific data analysis, software development, and infrastructure management to support mission-critical applications in a UNIX/Linux environment.
You will be responsible for handling large datasets, optimizing data pipelines, and maintaining robust backend systems for data processing and analysis.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize data processing pipelines for scientific analysis.Work with large datasets in a Linux environment, leveraging Python for data wrangling, visualization, and machine learning applications.Manage databases, ensuring proper clustering, replication, backup, and retention policies.Maintain and configure networking infrastructure and backend systems.Administer and troubleshoot UNIX/POSIX environments, including bash scripting, SSH, and Docker.Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and version control using Git.Deploy and manage containerized applications with Docker and Docker Compose.Work with Proxmox (preferred) for virtualization and system management.RequirementsSystem Administration Skills:Strong database management experience, including SQL and cluster replication.Advanced knowledge of UNIX/Linux, including bash scripting and SSH.Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and container orchestration.Familiarity with networking and back-end development.Proxmox experience is a plus.Data Science SkillsExpert proficiency in Python for data analysis, visualization, and development.Strong knowledge of data wrangling, processing, and pipeline construction.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.EducationBachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths or similar.Experience: we are looking for aptitude!
