The newly formed data and analytics function at Auckland Transport is on a journey to establish a centre of excellence.
We are currently recruiting aData Governance Manager, reporting to the Head of Data and Analytics, within our Business Technology division.
We're looking for someone who has a passion for data and wants to be responsible for the management and oversight of AT's data assets.
Within this role, you'll manage the governance framework around the end-to-end data lifecycle to move AT towards becoming a data driven organisation, providing business users with high quality data, ensuring compliance to organisational and regulatory requirements, and that data consumers and producers adhere to good data handling behaviours and practices.
You'll be responsible for ensuring the enterprise data landscape is fully understood, documented and managed, and you'll oversee the governance aspects of the data platforms that encompasses our data warehouse, near real time data delivery, operational data security and public data provision capability. You'll also be a key liaison to the programme delivery team in relation to data and information architecture.
You'll also need to offer the following skills and attributes:
Degree qualification in data or analytics; or equivalent experience
Extensive experience in the IT industry, particularly in the data warehouse or information centric fields
Experience of data management and governance in a regulated environment
Proven experience in development and implementation of data usage and presentation software
Proven experience and understanding of the latest data storage and retrieval principals and methodologies
Excellent knowledge of the security and privacy concerns of a local or central government agency, or other heavily regulated industry sector
Understanding of relevant data and information related regulations
Experience across systems integration, information management, data management and architecture, and business analytics
Strong experience in leading change activities
Experience or knowledge of working with 'Big Data' and real- or near-time data delivery is seen as advantageous
You'll have strong communication and influencing skills, the ability to build strong relationships between cross functional teams, a keen attention to detail, and are able to juggle multiple change initiatives at once.
