Tram Road Dairy Unit is searching for a motivated individual with great communication skills to join and support the team as 2IC. The ideal candidate will bring sound knowledge/experience across all aspect of dairy operations and have a positive attitude towards health and safety, and animal welfare. Located in Westport as part of our Cape Foulwind complex, this 450 ha property milks 850 cows through a 60 bale rotary with ACR’s, Milk hub and an in-shed feeding system. Tram currently run a rotation roster; 6/2, 6/2, 6/3. This role will provide you with the chance to be the go-to support for the Farm Manager, which will involve stepping in to manage the operations when the Manager is on rostered time off. Tram offers a supportive team environment and will have a team of 5 in total. The key tasks for the role will include taking on responsibility for feed allocation, animal health, budgeting, animal records and mentoring staff.A near new 4-bedroom house is available for the successful candidate along with a comprehensive salary package which includes life and health insurance.
