We operate using Agile ways of working to meet the fast-changing needs of our customers.About the RoleSpark Cyber Defence Operations Center is seeking a Junior/Tier 1 Security Analyst to join our expanding team and help defend Spark, as well as Spark's Managed Security Services customers.
You will be based in our Christchurch office, handling a range of cyber security threats such as DDoS, phishing, malware, and other advanced attacks on a daily basis.This position is ideal for a technically inclined individual who has a genuine passion for developing skills and knowledge in the network security field, and who isn't afraid to tackle new challenges.
Relevant work experience is beneficial but not strictly required, as we focus on finding the right attitude and a strong drive to excel.Essential RequirementsBe able to continually pass the security vetting process and hold New Zealand permanent residency or citizenship.Highly motivated, eager to learn, and possessing a "can do" mindset.Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Willing to work a rotating shift schedule, including night shifts (CDOC operates 24/7).Fluent and articulate in English, with experience engaging clients via calls and emails.A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (preferably with a focus on Information Security), or relevant cybersecurity certification(s) such as Security+, or equivalent industry experience.Demonstrated interest in staying current with security trends and developments.Preferred Technical SkillsStrong understanding of TCP/IP and network security fundamentals.Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.Experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.Knowledge of various open-source security platforms and utilities.What We OfferBy joining New Zealand's largest private Cyber Defence Operations Center, you will be part of a rapidly growing team that supports both internal and external customers.
