1.0 FTE (80 hours per fortnight)

We have an opportunity for a Cost Accountant to join our Information Services Team. The team provides patient activity and related cost information to the Bay of Plenty DHB.
This is an exciting fulltime role which involves working with staff in every department of the DHB and, although based in Tauranga, covers both Eastern and Western BOP geographical regions. The role is varied and requires sound accounting and activity based costing experience. The software used is CBS CostPro, and there are opportunities to benchmark with other DHBs and be involved with Ministry of Health national costing standard development.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
Knowledge of costing concepts and processes either via a formal qualification or experience in cost accountancy.
Ability to recognise service strengths and weaknesses in order to assist Managers and Business Analysts to identify ways to better record activity and to promote efficient service delivery
Strong computer analytic skills, especially with spreadsheets and databases
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to respond to a dynamic environment
Good team building skills - our team is a small one within a large organisation
A dedication to work quality and the improvement of work processes
Excellent customer service
