At BestStart Elles Road we would love to find an experienced Cook to work in conjunction with our current Cook who is working across two of our Invercargill centres at present. We enjoy being able to provide the children with fresh and nutritious meals that are approved by the Healthy Heart programme and we currently run a gold rated healthy heart menu which is well received by the tamariki.

Our centre is in the heart of south city and we are conveniently located for families and staff. We have a focus throughout our classrooms on supporting children throughout their learning journeys and we take pride in providing a wonderful environment for them to learn and grow. The culture of each child is nurtured in an environment where diversity is respected and celebrated. We are looking forward to welcoming a new staff member into the centre who can provide overarching support to our Cook across our busy centre.

This is a permanent, part time position working 5 days per week (2 hours per day). The successful applicant will need to be open to an increase in hours from time to time.

Key duties will include:

*Morning and afternoon tea preparation
*Reheating and serving food
*Washing and restocking of food
*Cleaning dishes and ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and tidy – high standards are required to meet health and safety and hygiene standards

Our new Cook will be a great communicator with a positive attitude who is also able to demonstrate an awareness of allergies, dietary, cultural or religious needs and preferences when preparing meals
