Conveyor Belt Service Technician

The responsibility of the Service Technician is the installation and repair of conveyor belts and conveyor systems at mine and job sites.Ability to perform physical manual labor in outdoor, heavy industry, construction, or mining environments.Mechanical aptitude – competence in the use of conveyor belt working tools and equipment.Skilled to perform conveyor belt splicing; requires knowledge of belts and related equipment to perform the splice:lap splice, finger splice, and cable belt splicerefurbishment skillsbasic rigging, lifting, and slingingpulley lagging including ceramic, poly, and rubber laggingPromote safety by adhering to company safety guidelines, which includes but is not limited to the proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment, materials, and use of personal protective gear.Know, understand, and be capable of utilizing emergency response protocol.Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently and in a team environment.Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, effective, and professional manner.Document job-site work as required, including materials, labor, and other costs used on jobs.Minimum three to five years of experience in conveyor belt repair and maintenance.Experience in the construction, mining, or power plant industry is preferred.Knowledge of relevant safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and equipment (face shield, gloves, etc.).
