Waitemata District Health Board is about to embark on a programme of major capital works, including the building of the Elective Capacity Inpatient Beds facility and various infrastructure upgrades across Waitemata DHB's three main campuses (North Shore Hospital, Waitakere Hospital and the Mason Clinic).
The DHB's Management is establishing a Programme Management Office (our Strategic Capital Programme Group) to manage the delivery of the builds.
Waitemata District Health Board (WDHB) employs over 8,000 highly skilled clinical and non-clinical professionals and has a total annual operating expenditure of approximately $1.6 billion. As the largest DHB in New Zealand comprising of two main sites in West and North Auckland, it provides health services to a population of approximately 630,000.
The Strategic Capital Programme Group is tasked with building and upgrading infrastructures to ensure the DHBs' delivery of increasingly complex health services to a fast growing population.
Your role as Contracts Manager will be to assist the DHB apply best practices in your discipline to achieve the complex programmes in a timely manner.
We are looking for a dynamic Contracts Manager to provide contract management and monitoring for the Programme. Uilitsing your commercial acumen identify and develop business opportunities to improve the ability of projects and contracts to meet scope, timing and budget targets from inception to completion.
The Contracts Manager will report to the Director Strategic Capital Programme.
The successful candidate will be joining an experienced team of engineering, architectural, building professionals and be working in a fast paced and dynamic environment. As a minimum, you will have:
• Tertiary level qualification in a commerce, project management, construction or related field with post-grad qualifications in contract and / or financial management
• 10 years' experience in commercial roles in construction industry
• 8-10 years' experience working in large complex organisations
• Project management experience, with understanding of commercial, contractual and financial drivers
