Contract Relationship Manager at NZ Defence Force, Manawatu-Whanganui Mo te tunga | About the roleThe Contract Relationship Manager (CRM)team works closely with NZDF Commanders, stakeholders, and suppliers to maximise the effectiveness of supplier service delivery, ensuring the provision of value for money products and/or services, and initiating commercial improvement and innovation for the New Zealand Defence Force.The CRM'sportfolio will be made up of a mix of contracts, and within this portfolio the CRM will provide commercial direction and, when required, will fulfil the role of contract sponsor.Management of suppliers and contracts within a portfolio; to meet or exceed contracted performance levels and service deliverables.Developing and implementing strategies to deal with underperforming contracts, and exploiting mutual benefits.Developing and delivering commercial communications packages and presentations, both at an operating and strategic level.Effective delegation of day to day management of low-medium value/importance contracts to the Supplier Relationship Unit Contract Support Managers, ensuring appropriate guidance and support, while maintaining overall accountability for contract and relationship management outcomes.Providing contract drafting guidance including developing KPIs and governance structures.Due to the nature of this role, flexible working arrangements are assessed on a case by case basis.The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional relationship management and excellent interpersonal skills, alongside the following qualities:At least two years' experience of Supplier Relationship Management in a complex business environment.Ability to engage and manage senior stakeholders and clearly understand and articulate business needs and priorities.Ability to accurately identify, research, and describe/document commercial improvement opportunities.Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, providing commercial guidance, and participating in the development of NZDF organisational and commercial strategies within their portfolio.Have an eye-for-detail and maintain accurate and logical records of their actions.Please Note: A full and clean Driver's License is essential for this role.Nou te rourou | What's in it for youYour skills and dedication deserve recognition, and NZDF delivers with competitive pay matched to your experience.
