Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results.The team provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, fraud risk management and digital strategy.Consulting Director RoleWe are currently looking for a Consulting Director to lead VCA's Consulting Practice for the New Zealand and South Pacific (NZSP) region.
As the NZSP consulting lead, the Director will be responsible for growing the Practice in NZSP through business development, leading and delivering consulting engagements, and developing new solutions to continuously enhance and diversify the Practice's client offerings.The Director will lead a small team of consultants and collaborate with cross-functional experts across Visa's business to jointly develop client proposals, participate in client sales activities and ensure client engagements are delivered with excellence.Typical consulting engagements could include payment strategies, optimising portfolio profitability, product proposition design and launch, digital experiences design and implementation.What we are looking for:We are seeking deep experience across consulting and financial services.
Knowledge of the New Zealand payments landscape would be beneficial given the evolving regulatory environment.The full range of responsibilities are detailed below:Responsibilities:Work in close partnership with Client Sales Leads and Account Executives to understand client needs and challenges, and to identify advisory opportunities that will support the growth of our clients' business.Oversee project setup including contracting documentation, stakeholder engagement, interview guides and client data requirements.Manage execution of one or more project engagements, building client relationships, utilising governance frameworks and mitigating / resolving complex problems that emerge.Design and deliver compelling presentations to illustrate findings, ideas and recommendations and more broadly at times support implementation at the client onsite.More generally:Identify and surface opportunities for client projectsCreate, develop and maintain VCA IP and consulting offeringsContinuously build knowledge, surface new insights and produce thought leadership pieces that contribute to practice development and global best practiceThis is a hybrid position.
Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.QualificationsHaving already accumulated a variety of experience, you will be familiar with the payments industry and be keen to work alongside an experienced team in gaining a deeper understanding.
Specific skills and experience you will bring are:10+ years in consulting, business management or product managementDeep experience in strategy consultingDeep experience in product P&L or portfolio managementSuperior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigorStrong team orientation with a collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style and be able to work effectively in a matrixed organisationExcellent detail orientation, ensuring the highest level of quality and rigour in reports and data analysisExcellent presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilitiesSelf-motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to progress multiple priorities concurrentlyExperience in and passion for the power of analytics to inform and drive strategy and tactics, and proven ability to generate insights from dataStrong commercial acumen, with experience in working on business cases that prove ROIIn addition, you will ideally bring the following:Experience in payments or retail banking industryExperience in developing strategy (for products or business units)Experience in customer experience design (using human centred design / design thinking)Additional InformationVisa is an EEO Employer.
