The Role;
We are seeking suitably qualified Consultant Radiologists to join our dynamic Radiology team and to contribute to the development of the Radiology department.
We are seeking Radiologists with any subspecialty skills or interests and additionally Radiologists with interventional radiology and nuclear medicine expertise.
The Team & Department:
The department is currently expanding and we have vacancies in our team for qualified Consultant Radiologists. These include 2 new positions and will increase our team up to 10 Radiologists.
Our Radiologists are currently part of a cohesive, friendly team in one of the more advanced departments in the country. The work of the department is varied and often challenging. The Radiologists are by necessity multi skilled, but the development of a special interest is supported.
The single site department is situated centrally within the hospital and has the following facilities.
128 Slice GE Discovery CT750 HD scanner
1.5T GE Excite HDI MRI
GE Discovery NM/CT 670 - SPECT/CT with 16 slice CT scanner (back-up CT)4 ultrasound machines (including 3 x GE Logiq E9)
A GE Innova 3100 combo catheter and vascular laboratory with flat panel technology
Philips Omnidiagnost multipurpose fluoroscopy unit
3 General X-ray rooms including 2 dual-detector DR rooms (Carestream)
Fully integrated RIS/PACS and voice recognition (Carestream)
Hawke's Bay Radiologists have a collegial approach and an active commitment to ongoing education. Multidisciplinary meetings are held daily, weekly or monthly with virtually all specialties being involved.
Since the inception of teleradiology there is no night time on call requirement. Weekend day call is covered by a roster attracting additional payment, which all Radiologist are expected to participate in.

Our District Health Board is large enough to provide variety and depth of work experience, with good support and supervision, yet small enough to be a friendly team with good social interaction. Hawke's Bay Hospital is a 400 bed hospital providing acute and elective care for the Hawke's Bay region. We have strengthening Primary and Community health services and an increasingly integrated approach to health and health care.
The District Health Board (DHB) is a teaching DHB in partnership with Wellington Medical School, University of Otago and the local EIT.

The successful applicant will possess either FRANZCR or equivalent that would lead to specialist recognition, e.g. FRCR.
Applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a vocationally registered Radiologist.
