The Southern DHB has an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Radiologist with a subspecialty interest in Vascular Interventional Radiology to join a dedicated team of like-minded professionals who are committed to providing top-quality community care. This is a permanent, full-time position based in the vibrant city of Dunedin, well-known for its Southern Hospitality and proximity to New Zealand's most famous scenery and holiday spots (Queenstown, Wanaka and Milford Sound to name but a few!).
The Southern DHB Radiology Service delivers to a population of approximately 310,000 people over the Otago and Southland regions through two main centres based in Dunedin and Invercargill. Dunedin Hospital is a tertiary level hospital with 350 beds and provides all major specialties, as well as presenting opportunities for research and teaching through its close affiliation with the Otago Medical School.
The two main Hospitals in the region are located in Dunedin and Invercargill cities and both are affiliated with the University of Otago Medical School and have opportunities for teaching and research. Dunedin Hospital is a tertiary level hospital with 350 beds and provides all major specialties. Rebuilt in 2004 Invercargill hospital is a modern 160 bed secondary care facility that prides itself on having excellent facilities and equipment. Both hospitals offer a full range of imaging modalities based on a digital RIS / PACS system.
You will have several years experience as a consultant, ideally with a subspecialty in vascular interventional radiology, and take part in the vascular interventional daytime and on-call roster. The nature of the work will be a variety of elective, Emergency Department and Inpatient cases, and will involve the supervision and mentoring of radiology registrars working alongside you.

You must have FRANZCR qualified (or equivalent) and hold, or be eligible for, vocational registration with Medical Council of NZ.
