We have an exciting new opening for a Consultant Psychiatrist looking for a rural, farm, or beach lifestyle opportunity, living and working in the Mid North, Far North Bay of Islands, Hokianga area. This position would involve both conducting community clinics, and also clinical input into our Sub-Acute Unit.
This position is part of Northland's wider Mental Health Services, which cover the whole of the North from around Wellsford to North Cape. Inpatient services are available from the larger service in Whangarei, and peer support from colleagues in Whangarei, Kaikohe, Kerikeri and Kaitaia.
Applicants should be eligible for or be able to work towards vocational registration as Specialist Psychiatrists with the Medical Council of New Zealand and should preferably have FRANZCP. An appreciation of Maori culture and rural/community psychiatric experience would be an advantage.
