When you choose to work with us, we will offer you: · A comprehensive orientation and induction to our organisation and your department · Access to clinical training and education · Up to date facilities, Have a look at · Project Maunga - our New Facilities currently under construction check this out on our website www.tdhb.org/maunga.shtml · Opportunities to participate on local project and regional collaboration teams Permanent, Part or Full Time - 0.8-1.0FTE The successful applicant will join a department of ten Consultant Physicians who have subspecialty interests in General Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory, Renal and Rheumatology.  The Department of Medicine has a strong track record with education and training, and the successful incumbent will be expected to participate and contribute to the department's CME activities, including basic & advanced trainee registrar teaching, audit and medical student teaching. As a Specialist Physician in Dermatology you will work as the Lead Dermatologist with support from Paediatric Dermatology, Locum Dermatologists and Medical Officer Specialist Scale with a Dermatology interest and Dermatology Nurses in the Whanau & Communities Group. You will provide clinical services that include outpatient, community assessment and management of people requiring specialist dermatology care, and community-based support services. Clinics are provided in New Plymouth and Hawera. Strong clinical liaison with other surgical specialist such as General Surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology and non-surgical departments such as Paediatrics and the full range of medical specialties will be maintained. Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Specialist and hold appropriate specialist qualifications in Dermatology, such as being a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or equivalent. A suitable candidate would be proficient in the full range of medical dermatology, patch-testing, photo-dermatology, tele-dermatology, simple cutaneous surgery and management of skin cancer. They would be enthusiastic about empowering the patient, their family and healthcare providers to look after their skin in health and disease, liaising with primary and other secondary care services to provide equitable access and patient-centered care.
