The Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care is looking to recruit a new consultant Anaesthetist, to meet both the rising demands for our services as well as planning for the future. Our team of 21 anaesthetists provides a wide range of generalist services for all age groups, as well as intensive care cover. There are opportunities for those interested in acute, chronic pain management or research as well.
Applicants will need to be well rounded practitioners who can do a wide range of basic anaesthesia services and be good team players. Ability to participate in daily and after-hours ICU cover (supported by two fellows of CICM) is a requirement. There are 6 operating theatres and a recently opened interventional radiology suite. Department has an anaesthetic training programme with 6 first year anaesthetic registrars.
We host medical students from the University of Auckland. You will enjoy the benefits of teaching and supervising years 5 and 6, while having access to the University's up to date resources.
