Company Accountant

About the company:

This established and rapidly growing business has been leading a niche market in their industry for the past 5 years. Located in Brisbane's inner suburbs they are looking for a hands on Company Accountant with an Analyst focus to work closely with the COO and own the finance and accounting function.

In this newly created role, you will have an operational and business partnering focus across a range of responsibilities. This is the ideal role for a motivated first mover, looking for a business where they can really make an impact, not be just another number.

Your responsibilities will include:
Work closely with the COO and other C-suite team-members to set the budget and strategy for the organisation;
Manage all accounting operations including AP/AR and Billing;
Perform in depth variance analysis on budget vs actuals;
Regular budget consolidation;
Improving efficiencies and reducing costs across the business;
Support month-end and year-end close process to prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements;
Effectively maintaining client relationships including Audit firm and taxation agent;

Your background:
You will be strictly CA or CPA qualified (or working toward to qualification) and be looking to make your first move from Big 4/mid tier chartered accounting. Other essential experience and attributes include.
An innate desire to challenge and improve processes;
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills;
