Stepping Stone Trust (SST) is a faith based organisation and the largest NGO Mental Health Service in Canterbury. SST operates Residential, Respite and Community Support services for Youth through to Older Persons for 500+ tangata whaiora/consumers each week.
We are currently looking for Community Support Workers.
Your role will make a difference by assisting people to live full and independent lives in the community. You will bring knowledge of, and commitment to, recovery principles in mental health and addiction. This will be enhanced by your knowledge of community resources. As a community support worker, you will work alongside to empower and equip people to establish personal wellbeing and make positive life choices.
Experience supporting people and an understanding of family needs is a requirement for this position. Proficiency in working in a community setting is also a highly desirable skill. A Level 4 Health & Wellbeing certificate and/or related training qualification is preferred. Your strong relationship skills will contribute to our enthusiastic mental health team.
You need a full, clean New Zealand driver's licence, computer literacy, an attention to detail and the ability to liaise with NGO agencies, Specialist Mental Health Services and tangata whaiora support networks. You will also need the willingness and ability to work solely with a male client group.

The pay scale for this role is expected to be $43k-$53k per annum for a 1.0 FTE role, in line with gender pay equity.
