We are looking for a proactive and experienced Community Risk Manager to identify, assess, and mitigate risks within the community.

As a member of the District Leadership Team (DLT) the Community Risk Manager is collectively accountable for ensuring service delivery (the 4Rs of risk reduction, readiness, response and recovery) for the built and natural environment across the district.
You will need to be a strategic thinker to lead our team and drive positive change. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative strategies, fostering collaboration, and ensuring impactful progress towards our goals. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
* You will lead all risk reduction and community readiness and recovery functions and activities across the district and contribute to the development and delivery of National work programs.
* Ensure a strong two-way connection between the Risk Reduction and Community Readiness and Recovery Teams, Group Managers and Brigades to create a common understanding of each other's programmes of work and shared commitment to delivery.
* Form and foster a cohesive and high-performing team that ensures people are well led at all levels.
Demonstrate strong qualitative and quantitative analytical ability, strong judgement, and decision-making.
* Be able to distil complex and competing information to identify key themes and issues and takes a strong evidence-based approach to decision-making.

The Community Risk Manager will deliver accountability through ensuring the effective leadership of all risk reduction and community readiness and recovery functions and activities in the district.
This includes the robust management of resources, the development, implementation and monitoring of work programs and the development and maintenance of relationships with key partners, stakeholders and communities in a way that provides information and intelligence to ensure that service and support needs are met. These relationships are critical to ensuring shared capability and the understanding of shared outcomes.
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will:
* Demonstrate a proven ability to work effectively with the organisation's key stakeholders, partners, and communities of interest.
* Identify and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational outcomes, and co-ordinate and collaborate with and across internal functions to ensure alignment of functions.

* Demonstrate effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to convey complex or technical information both verbally and in written form to a range of audiences.

* Demonstrate a drive for results and delivery of outcomes; promote a culture of high performance.
