About the Role
Bay of Plenty - Hauora a Toi are looking for Registered Midwives with heart, presence, and experience to join our Community Midwifery Team based in Tauranga.
We are offering up to 1.0 FTE that offers the rare privilege of walking alongside mama and their whanau through pregnancy, birth, and the early days of parenting.

This is midwifery at its most meaningful – out in the community, delivering continuity of care, building trusting relationships, and ensuring that every whanau feels supported, informed, and respected.
Our midwife-led model is grounded in connection and collaboration.
You will work closely with the maternity team based at Tauranga Hospital, delivering antenatal and postnatal care in homes, clinics, and community settings, while also educating and guiding whanau on maternal and new-born wellbeing.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will be grounded in your practice and generous in your care.
You bring confidence, humility, and a steady hand to your work – whether supporting first-time parents or navigating the complex needs of our diverse communities.
What you will bring:

* Registered Midwife with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
* Confidence across the full scope of midwifery, particularly in antenatal and postnatal care.
* A calm, compassionate communication style that builds trust.
* A genuine passion for walking alongside hapu mama and their whanau
* A full, clean NZ driver's licence.
