Northland District Health Board advocates for affirmative action and actively seeks Maori into our workforce to reflect the community we serve.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurses to join the multidisciplinary Mental Health and Addictions team in Kamo, Whangarei.
Experience in Community Mental Health nursing is highly desirable.
The successful applicant will work from Puriri House in Kamo primarily in the General Adult team catchment, which extends from Towai to Whangarei.
You will need a strong desire and ability to work as part of a positive and productive multidisciplinary team. Applicants will be highly motivated and have excellent communication and computer skills.
There will be a requirement to train and function as a Duly Authorised Officer [as described in the 1992 Mental Health [Compulsory Assessment and Treatment] Act and amendments. The preferred applicant will have qualifications and or experience working with people who have coexisting mental health and substance use problems and their whanau
Applicants will be committed to providing a quality consumer-focused service that is based on best practice principles and aligned to National Mental Health Standards whilst adhering to current Nursing Council of New Zealand competencies. Full orientation and training will be provided.
A current annual practising certificate and police clearance to meet contractual obligations will be required. A current, clean and full driving licence is essential.
