We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team which delivers forensic community mental health care and support to individuals within the Midland Region.
This is a great opportunity to become part of our progressive, dynamic, recovery focused Puawai Forensic Community team where a positive attitude and team work is highly regarded.
Given the complexity of forensic prison mental health nursing it is preferable that you have had forensic nursing experience, with a working understanding of the forensic pathway and evidence based practise. This role requires excellent assessment skills, experience with implementing interventions which enhance service user outcomes and the ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders. As a forensic community mental health nurse you will provide a comprehensive and quality service, which is accessible, appropriate and culturally sensitive while working in partnership with individuals and their whanau.
In this role you cover the District Courts as required.
We are committed to ongoing professional development of our team and provide individual orientation programmes which include mentorship, preceptorship and clinical supervision.
As the successful applicant you will have:
a current annual practising certificate that entitles you to work in mental health
a current full drivers licence
experience in mental health nursing
excellent communication and problem solving skills
a passion for the principles of recovery and rehabilitation.
