Are you an experienced Community Mental Health Nurse?? Looking for a change from your norm?

Waipareira Trust is an urban Maori-proud community creating positive outcomes for whanau. We are currently looking for 2 Registered Community Mental Health Nurses for a 6 month fixed term contract. This role will help to develop and shape an innovative way of working with whanau to support them holistically. You will provide clinical guidance and support to our wider team and be part of a multi-disciplinary specialist team.

We are looking for Nurses who have the knowledge and experience to be able to build, develop and implement a community-based model, that will compliment and support our current Mental Health kaimahi working on the front line. This role is suited to someone who likes to work in the 'unknown' and is comfortable 'writing the text book' as you go. This is a chance to develop a new and more effective way of working with whanau from the ground up, where whanau have the say in how services are developed and delivered for them.

What you will need to bring to this role:
Registered Nurse Practicing Certificate in accordance with the Nursing Council of New Zealand;
Have 2 years post-graduate nursing experience with clients who have mental health disorders, their families/whanau and community supports;
Knowledge of kaupapap Maori recovery based practices;
Understanding of Maori tikanga and te re reo;
Understanding of Whanau Ora;
Ability to work either independently or in a team environment;
Ability to coach and mentor team members;
Willing to do whatever it take to get the mahi done;
Excellent computer skills, and be familiar with Microsoft applications/platforms;
Excellent communication skills - written and verbal;
The ability to work under pressure in a busy and challenging environment;
A full drivers licence.
While some training is provided, the successful applicants must have the ability to pick up the role and run quickly.
