Dunedin is an amazing place to live and work and if you were to ask anyone living here theyll tell you that theres something indescribably special about our city Its small enough to feel like youre part of a community but big enough to ensure that theres always something going on From the great outdoors to arts culture and education all within 10 minutes of the city centre Dunedin has so much to offer so why not come and feel just how special it is Community Advisor Permanent Position 0 5FTE Support youth development within Dunedin Be part of a cando team Flexible working environment The Community Development and Events team has a vacancy for a parttime Community Advisor Our Advisors provide strategic support and advice to the Council on issues relevant to this community and guidance and information to social and government organisations The team s work is varied and reflects the city s Social Wellbeing Strategy You will specifically support youth development initiatives including the city s recently launched Otepoti Youth Vision If you can think strategically but deliver operational support have a real interest in empowering our community in particular youth this may be the role for you You will be appreciative of the contribution of all cultures within our city As well as exceptional communication and relationship building skills you ll be able to meet deadlines and be part of a team that works flexibly Importantly you must enjoy working with young people and be able to demonstrate how you have supported youthled initiatives The role involves regular evening commitments and occasional weekend work Applications close Friday 6 December 2019
