Commercial Manager - Nelson Airport

Nelson Airport, a key gateway to the Top of the South/Te Tau Ihu and the stunning Abel Tasman National Park, is entering an exciting new phase. They have completed an extensive redevelopment and expansion of the transport and terminal facilities. With their stunning new terminal and further development plans in the pipeline, they are poised and ready to take the next step in their evolution.

Reporting to the CEO and a critical contributor to the Executive Team, the Commercial Manager will lead the delivery of growth opportunities set out in the 2035 Master Plan. You will develop and implement business improvement plans to optimise the Airport’s commercial performance and maximise revenue by identifying, developing and optimising revenue strategies for new and existing property, retail and ground transport activities. Creating mutually beneficial partnerships with stakeholder and partners including the Board, customers, tenants, commercial partners, suppliers, community, iwi, industry and Council’s, is a critical element.

To be successful you will need extensive commercial business management and development experience from within property, infrastructure, retail or airports. Commercially astute, you will demonstrate a strategic, innovative approach and a track record of delivering results in competitive environments. Skilled at managing relationships, you will be a credible and positive representative, enhancing Nelson Airport’s business and community reputation. Leading negotiations and taking responsibility for preparing commercial offers, leases, licenses, tenancy agreements and rent reviews, you will ensure commercial terms are administered and financial targets achieved. Exposure to successful development of commercial property projects from inception to completion would be viewed favourably.
