At Christchurch Hospital, we are building a collaborative and cohesive healthcare system where our professionals thrive in a supportive and innovative environment.About the RoleWe are seeking a Colorectal Surgeon to join the Department of General Surgery on a 6 month fixed term basis at Christchurch Hospital — one of the largest surgical units in Aotearoa.
Our team consists of 26 Senior Medical Officers (SMOs), 22 Resident Medical Officers (RMOs), and 12 House Officers, supported by a dedicated nursing and administrative team.ResponsibilitiesAcute General Surgery — participate in our acute service on a rotational and on-call basis.Elective Colorectal Surgery, Colonoscopy and Outpatient Clinic — delivering expert care within a highly collaborative team.Teaching & Research — active involvement in medical education, clinical research, and quality improvement initiatives.A Supportive Environment — working alongside a highly skilled and dynamic team that values professional development and innovation.To apply, you must be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
