Job Description Maybe the grass is actually greener.... We have the dream managers role coming available on our OAD farm for the upcoming season in Coastal/South Taranaki. One of the motivators behind our switch to OAD milking 5 years ago was to create a farm working environment that was more people friendly. This role offers a lot of flexibility to how you manage your work life balance in the afternoons. Our Farm manager is moving to a contract milking role after 5 years with us, so we are on the lookout for a superstar to join our team @Maolla farms The role will be either Manager or Assistant Manager dependent on your skills and experience. You will be a team player and working closely with a supportive farm owner running a 1260 cow OAD farm. Your people/communication skills need to be expectational – we want someone to lead and work alongside our team. The team consists of you, farm owner and 3 other full timers. Come next season our team would have all been with us for 5+ years. We take on extra people over calving to help lighten the load. We are a system 2/3 farm with a huge focus on utilising every blade of grass, your pasture game must be perfect. This is a great role for someone that wants to learn more on farm profitability to help them in their career progression. We use Dairybase reporting to ensure we are at the sharp end of farm profitability. Our herd are LIC Kiwicross superstars and are in the top 2% in NZ for BW/PW. We run 4 herds through our 60 bale rotary, we have Allflex collars and protrack. You MUST be a NZ resident or have a valid work visa to apply. We are not an INZ accredited employer.
