Based in Wellington, you will be part of the wider Platform-as-a-Service group, which is a cross-functional agile infrastructure development team. Our goal is to provide platform solutions leveraging AWS to Xero product development teams to enable them to deliver products quickly and easily. You will write API-first software to deploy, monitor, and maintain Xero's core platform.
Build & Deploy - What we do:
The B&D team works on improving and managing Xeros software delivery life cycle using continuous integration and deployment tools. We're building a service offering to ensure our development teams can deploy software quickly, and without hassle!
The team's work involves coding, infrastructure, cloud and much more, using tools such as: Spinnaker, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, GitHub, Artifactory, AWS, and languages like Terraform, Kotlin, Golang & more.
As an Engineer in Build & Deploy, you will get to deep dive into many different technologies to get a better understanding of how code is built and deployed at Xero. You should be able to write code, be keen to learn, and dive deep into any of the topics mentioned!
Skills and experience:
Experience in delivering code to production in a commercial environment.
Ability to work with others and navigate areas of conflict in an open, positive and proactive way.
Experience of modern product and engineering principles and practices.
Experience with cloud technologies and CI/CD systems.
Knowledge and/or experience with Python, Golang, Terraform, Java/Kotlin, Spinnaker and containerisation technologies or similar would be an advantage.
Ideally, proven experience working with innovative software development projects at scale.
