Due to the signing of the national safe staffing accord, the Clinical Nurse Coordination team situated at Dunedin Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced nurse to join the team on a permanent or secondment basis. This role is for our 'out of hours' shifts.
Clinical Team Co-ordinator (CTC) Description
The role of the CTC nurse is a new and exciting opportunity at SDHB for senior Registered Nurses who have the following qualities:
Positive 'can do' attitude
Excellent at communication
Ability to support ward staff to recognise and manage their deteriorating patients
Use expert clinical judgement along with mandatory escalation pathway
Critical care background
Although working autonomously on a shift by shift basis, you will be part of a team that strives to empower, support and guide ward nurses to manage their acutely unwell and deteriorating patients.
CTC nurses will play a pivotal part in rolling out the new national adult observation charts. These incorporate an Early Warning System (EWS) with mandatory escalation pathways. CTC nurses will provide clinical support by assisting the ward nursing staff initiate and implement appropriate escalation of care. The CTC will also attend 777 medical emergencies.
