Mental Health and Addictions Service
Full or part time - hours negotiable
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinical psychologist who would like to balance satisfying adult mental health and addiction clinical work with the benefits of the beautiful environment and relaxed lifestyle of Coromandel. Turnover of psychologists in this team has been low over the years so this opportunity may not arise again for a while.
The base for the adult team is nominally in Thames but there is some flexibility for applicants who might wish to live and work in other parts of the Peninsula. We are seeking a psychologist with a strong theoretical orientation, who is focused on delivering effective and efficient therapy and can work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team of experienced clinicians. There are well-established, effective and popular psychology skills groups running at several clinics and we are seeking a psychologist who will oversee the facilitation of these groups alongside other allied health staff.
This position will involve some travel in work time to rural clinics. Waikato DHB psychologists enjoy strong links with the Waikato University training programme, there is committed clinical leadership, and there are favourable provisions for continuing professional development.
