We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with a sound knowledge of best-practice psychological theories and treatment approaches to work with adults experiencing mental health difficulties within a forensic context. While not essential, previous experience with forensic, correctional, or other high risk-high needs clients would be an advantage. You will be part of a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team that provides specialist care to forensic clients in hospital, prison and in the community. As part of a regional service (covering Wellington, Manawatu, Whanganui, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa and Tairawhiti), you will also have the opportunity to be involved in wider service and local team development activities suitable to your skill-set and level of experience. Professional Development is also supported through contract provisions. This role is full time, but this is negotiable for the right person.
Duties
Undertaking psychological assessments and interventions with clients in a forensic setting.
Liaising and working within a multi-disciplinary team.
Writing psychological reports to the court.
Providing consult-liaison to other services.

Skills & Experience
Minimum of a Master's Degree in Psychology and Post graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
Registration with NZ Psychologist Board, with Clinical Psychology Vocational Scope of Practice
Experience working in the Forensic and/or Mental Health pathways
Current annual practising certificate
Full Drivers Licence

Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. CCDHB operates two hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua - as well as the Kapiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.
The MentalHealth, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) spans three DHBs - Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHB's and includes local, regional, and national services. The local MHAIDS services are provided from multiple sites within the 3DHB sub-region - greater Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa.
The Central Regional Forensic Mental Health Service covers the central region. This includes Wellington. Manawatu, Whanganui. Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa and Tairawhiti regions. There are four specific areas of provision within the Regional Forensic service delivery model, these are: Courts, Prison, Inpatient setting and community.
