We have an excellent opportunity for 2 Clinical Psychologists to join our Specialist Mental Health Service for Older People at Tauranga Hospital. The service provision covers Western and Eastern BOP Community services and our MHSOP Inpatient Unit, Tauranga Hospital.
We are a multidisciplinary team composed of nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, psychiatrists. You will also be part of the bigger psychologist group employed by the DHB.
The focus of the role is on both neuropsychological assessment and therapeutic intervention for older people presenting with mental health difficulties and/or age related neurological disorder.
This role will include neuropsychological assessment and designing psychological interventions for inpatients presenting with complex problems. The psychologist will also provide neuropsychological assessment to the Memory Service which is facilitated under the MHSOP umbrella.
The successful applicant will be able to provide appropriate, effective, objective and clear psychological formulations based on thorough assessment; Appropriate use of a wide range of assessment tools including psychometric tests; therapeutic interventions to be formulated in consultation with the client and when appropriate, with the family; Provide a range of therapeutic interventions using individual, family and group techniques;
