It\'s a hugely exciting time to be working in Wellington for the capital\'s city council - with the major LGWM (https://lgwm.nz/) city - shaping programme underway!
Let\'s Get Wellington Moving (LGWM) is a shared programme between WCC, GWRC and NZTA. The team is passionate about developing and delivering an integrated transport system that support Wellington\'s growth, while making it safer and easier to move around. The vision is to build a great harbour city that is accessible to all, with attractive places, shared streets, and efficient local and regional journeys.
City Streets is one of the LGWM work package which aims to deliver a step change in the design and use of the key urban corridors and precincts in Wellington City to optimise street space for bus priority, cycling, walking , safety and accessibility, network optimisation and operation and place outcomes. The City Council is leading the planning and development of this City Streets package and as such we are recruiting for the following 12 month fixed-term roles, that are key in contributing to a successful delivery outcomes that provide improved transport choice for our community. Development Project Managers
The Development Project Managers will be leading a project team made of urban designers, transport engineers, economists etc through the development stage of projects including options analaysis and up to the development a robust business case. You will be responsible for all aspects of a project development stage including reporting, risk, procurement and quality management.
We are looking for people with strong project management experience and proven experience in delivering quality results to time and budget. Knowledge and/or understanding of agile or design-led processes, developing projects with complex inter dependencies and many stakeholders .
Delivery Project Manager
As the Delivery Project Manager, you will oversee the delivery of a range of projects in the LGWM City Streets programme including the delivery of bus priority, walking and cycling projects. The role encompasses all the aspects of project delivery including contract management, commissioning, oversight and reporting.
You will be someone with significant experience in the successful delivery of construction projects. This role may act as an Engineer to Contract as defined in the conditions of applicable construction contract so you will need to have a strong understanding of NZS 3910:2013. Knowledge and/or understanding of engineering relevant to all works on legal roads is highly desirable.
Senior Transport Engineer
As a Senior Transport Engineer you will provide sound transport engineering advice and recommendations to ensure the delivery of quality design outcomes. You will be an essential part of a diverse project team and be able to work collaboratively with experts from other disciplines to come up with technically feasible solutions to complex problems. You will work closely with the WCC transport team and the stakeholders across the LGWM programme to ensure LGWM strategic priories are met.
You will be a Senior Engineer with proven experience and in-depth knowledge in transport engineering and planning.
Senior Urban Designer
The Senior Urban Designer will champion a \'design led\' approach, advocate and apply best practice for high quality design processes and urban design outcomes. You will be leading and delivering design direction and integrated place making solutions from concept to delivery across a number of public space and transport projects throughout Wellington.
Our successful candidate will have proven experience in urban design along with a relevant degree in urban design related field such as urban design, landscape architecture, architecture or related field. Construction and public and/or private sector experience is required.
