Child And Adolescent Psychiatrist/Medical Officer (2.0Fte)

We have an exciting new opening for a Senior Medical Officer looking for a small city, rural, farm, or beach lifestyle opportunity, living and working in the Whangarei area. This position is part of Northland's wider Mental Health Services, which cover the whole of the North from around Wellsford to North Cape.
This position provides outpatient care from the main team location in Whangarei as well as from satellite clinics in other parts of the district. We encourage applications from doctors with an interest in broad-based approaches to care, including working with other government agencies (especially Oranga Tamariki and Education) and non-government organisations.

You will become part of a broader group of psychiatrists within the district contributing to care across the age bands, and in sub-specialty services including maternal mental health, early psychosis service and addictions, as well as a group of child and adolescent psychiatrist colleagues within the greater Northern Region.
Applicants should be eligible for or be able to work towards vocational registration as Specialist Psychiatrists with the Medical Council of New Zealand and should preferably have FRANZCP. An appreciation of Maori culture and rural/community psychiatric experience would be an advantage.
