Day in and day out Enable is connecting people to critical infrastructure and helping to make Christchurch a better place for communities to connect, live, work and do business.About the roleReporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer is responsible for overseeing all legal and regulatory aspects of Enable. As a key member of the Executive team, you will be involved in developing and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, mitigating legal risks, and providing expert legal counsel to support business objectives.This is an important and influential executive level role with a strong strategic focus. You will collaborate with other members of the Executive team to define and redefine the development of Enable's overall strategic plan and set goals and objectives that align with the company's values and long-term vision.With responsibility for leading and managing Enable's legal team, you will guide the team to deliver best fit legal advice across all aspects of the business, ensuring the maximum protection of legal rights and management of risk. This includes providing hands-on, practical and efficient legal advice relating to, legal contracts and documents; legal and regulatory issues and risks; legal and regulatory compliance matters and regulatory strategy. As Company Secretary, you will provide secretariat support to the Board ensuring that company and statutory obligations are met.What we are looking for:Qualified lawyer with NZ practising certificate (or eligibility to hold one)Significant experience in a senior legal advisory role with high quality experience in areas of commercial, contractual and company lawBroad exposure to regulatory entities and/or regulatory environments including compliance adviceDemonstrated experience interacting at Board and Senior Management levelA high degree of commercial acumenProven leadership skills and strategic abilityStrong collaboration, influencing and relationship building skillsPragmatic, practical and commercial approach to problem solvingAn approachable and proactive working styleSelf-management and organisational skillsThis is a superb opportunity to influence and contribute to the achievement of Enable's strategic objectives and vision for the future.
